functional Pilates
agi falenta | Antiparos island, GREECE
| 4-9 September 2026
Our second Pilates retreat, this time on the mythical island of Antiparos. Lead by Agi, an expert in functional Pilates, this 6 day retreat will deeply explore the details of releasing, re-aligning and restoring your natural bodily movements. As always, under the Greek sun and with the local expertise and care of the Fykiada girls.
practice
Each class will use functional Pilates on the mat, in curated sequences for every body that progressively build strength, awareness, and ease.
Mornings will feature dynamic mat work to awaken and prepare the body for the day through Functional and mindful movement.
Afternoons will be detailed workshops that take you deeper into your body, exploring specific areas of tension, mobility, or imbalance. They will end with restorative sessions uniquely designed for each retreat day to move freely and reconnect with our body before settling down for the day.
What is Functional Pilates? This movement methodology reviews the patterns of how we move, correcting and adjusting for overall musculeskeletal health. We are used to doing certain movements automatically, in daily life as well as in class - Functional Pilates slows down each of the movements, correcting imbalances, and finetuning with the goal of feeling good and staying healthy.
Agi Falenta is the founder of Functional Pilates by Agi - an international educator, movement specialist, and creator of the Functional Pilates Manuals and rehabilitation programs taught worldwide. Her journey began in the world of professional horse riding, where she first discovered the power of balance, coordination, and connection between movement and awareness.
Over the years, Agi became a Pink Ribbon Program teacher, a qualified Kinetic Chain Release and Connective Tissue Therapist, and a presenter at international Pilates conferences across Dubai, India, Turkey, Poland, Greece, and Italy.
Her true turning point came after a total hip replacement, when she guided her own rehabilitation through mindful, functional movement. That experience transformed her teaching philosophy - shaping a unique method that integrates science, somatic awareness, and freedom of movement.
our island home
A luxury collection of five private homes located on the southern tip of Antiparos. Their privileged location up on the hill offers an overwhelming view of the Aegean and the Ancient Sanctuary of Apollo in a safe haven from the elements.
Although the houses are blessed with the privacy and serenity of the hill, they are just 15’ walk away from the sea, and the vibrancy of the southern beaches of Antiparos. Each house offers uninterrupted view to the Aegean, minimal chic Cycladic design, and the unmatched silence of a protected bay. Click for more images.
nourishment
Food in Antiparos is what we call in Greek ‘evdaimonia’= the joy of the spirit. Is described as food for the soul, the subtle body and the eyes. Food prepared by our retreat chef with deep knowledge of Greek culture, macrobiotic nutrition and respect to the land.
Freshly baked bread, colourful salads, fresh fruits, nourishing microgreens grown on our counter, homemade kombucha, and all the traditional recipes you want to try from the hands of a local. Our retreats offer a morning snack, brunch & dinner while tea, coffee, fruits and delicious leftovers are in abundance the whole day.
a glimpse of our days
Our days are based on flow. A balanced blend of movement, rest and adventure. There’s a suggested schedule but everyday is different. The group has a life of its own and we love syncing to the magic that unfolds.
We are together, but free to be alone. We go on adventures, like walking on the coast and finding coves and rocks to dive from, and taking the boat to hop on the nearby islands. Lots of sun, sea, and sun. Lots of silence, laughs, conversations, and solitude.
