Welcome to our Yoga Therapy Retreat with Marsha and Ashlie in Mykonos. We are so excited that the expertise of these therapeutic teachers has been transformed into a retreat with us. We are endlessly trying to move from feeling ache, restless and burnt-out to feeling rejuvenated, calm and strong. In our Awake Retreat you will develop a deep understanding of how your daily patterns contribute to body stiffness and how to utilize a therapeutic yoga practice to optimize your health, both physical and mental.

Our body, mind, emotion and nervous system is one inter-related network that responds to our environment and lived experience. Gain tools to become more aware of this interaction and how to manage your stress response to promote longevity and vitality in your body and mind. The yoga classes will be a balanced blend of morning energizing flow and anatomical Hatha afternoon workshops. Each energizing morning flow practice will focus on incorporating the theme from the anatomical hatha practice the evening prior. You will gain confidence in your strength through a full range of motion in these dynamic flow classes.

The afternoon classes will be workshops going deeper into different parts of our body, the diaphragm, the hips, the pelvic floor, etc. Each workshop will be an exploration of the anatomy and function of each part to help you understand and bring awareness to how you live your everyday life in your body.

Their Reconnect to Yourself Masterclass will be a mindful yoga practice that promotes meaningful connection with yourself and others - experience yoga through the lens of polyvagal theory and use breath as a direct communication with the nervous system.

An almost one to one teaching experience with Marsha & Ashlie tailored to your needs

Marsha’s teaching centers around the belief that education is empowering, movement is therapeutic and a mindfulness practice connects us with ourselves and others. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology which informs her biopsychosocial approach to working with people and her yoga classes are influenced by her background as an osteopath and massage therapist. Based in Ontario, Canada, Marsha has experience teaching anatomy and physiology at a college level both locally and internationally. For over a decade, Marsha has been supporting people in healing themselves through yoga.

Ashlie found yoga as a way to heal from a sports rotator cuff injury. Through her practice and healing journey, Ashlie teaches about the inherent wisdom of the body, how to listen to the messages of the body and to respond in compassion and support. After receiving her 500hr yoga certification in India in 2010 she went on to pursue barre training, restorative training, SUP yoga, corrective core exercise certification and most notably, Yoga Therapy Training C-IAYT (800hrs). She has also been involved in teaching yoga in a research study for pain and osteoarthritis at McMaster University, based in Ontario, Canada. Ashlie uses her different trainings as tools to educate and empower her students and clients to correct imbalances, holding patterns and compensations so they can feel strong and full of vitality.

A special vegetarian / vegan a la carte brunch has been created specifically for our retreats where you can enjoy a delicious variety of non-dairy and gluten free options. The highlight of this culinary journey is a tailor-made dinner experience. The chef has created a special blend of Greek-style sharing plates just for Fykiada Retreats. His approach to Greek cuisine is modern, yet based on traditional recipes made with the best quality ingredients.

TRAVEL INFO

Travelling to Mykonos: We suggest that you fly directly to Mykonos airport (code JMK) or connect via the Athens airport. We wouldn’t recommend going to Mykonos via ferry as the ferry timetable might be subject to change due to COVID.

We advise our guests to allow one day prior and after the retreat for their travelling and book flexible or refundable plane tickets.
